another anti-piracy ad to ignore

I’ve heard this industry argument against piracy a few times (this time by Creative America), and it did get my attention initially, but I’ve come to understand things a little bit better now.

Yes, taking money away from major music companies takes jobs from the technicians, custodians and administrative workers who actually work for a living. This truth, though, is just as much a product of the way the corporation is structured, as it is the product of people downloading music for free.

Instead of slashing the salaries of those high up who have too much money to spend, those on the bottom rungs get sold out. And for some reason, I’m the one who supposed to feel immoral about it.
