The Thom Yorke/Jonny Greenwood + Doom collaboration

This will by no means be your favourite rap song of the year, but it may be one of the most original. Up until Doom (formerly MF Doom), Yorke has seemed to distance himself from hip hop artists, and hip hop music, altogether.

Maybe it was a common birthplace, maybe it was a common unwillingness to sell out, but most likely what brought these artists together was a thirst for innovation, and, more importantly, good music.
